Medical Debt Forgiveness
If you are visiting this page, it is likely because you have received a letter notifying you that you have had medical debt paid off by a nonprofit organization, through funds donated by Grace Bible Church. If that is what brought you to this page, we would like to share how blessed that we are to be able to pass on some of the financial resources with which God has entrusted us, to meet a need that so many in our community have. We hope that the forgiveness of that medical debt will provide some measure of financial relief, and also be a step toward greater financial stability.
The financial debt that so many of us experience, however, is only a shadow of the true debt that each of us incurs. When we fall short of full obedience to God, then we incur a debt that must be paid. Since the penalty of sin is death, that means that each of us comes under the sentence of death for our sins (Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:5, Colossians 2:13.) Amazingly, God loves us so much that He sent His Son to pay that penalty for us (John 3:16, Isaiah 53:5, Romans 5:8, Galatians 3:13, Colossians 2:14.) If it is a blessing for someone to pay a financial debt for us, how immeasurably greater is it for someone to give their very life for us to pay the debt of our sin? That is the true picture of love (I John 3:16.)
If you have not already experienced the peace and hope that can only come from the knowledge that Christ has fully paid the debt of your sin and granted you new life (Colossians 2:13), then we pray that the gift of the forgiveness of this financial debt will give you a desire to learn more about God who offers infinitely greater forgiveness which was purchased at an infinitely greater cost.
